The Union provides several services, such as legal aid, food assistance, counseling help related to university procedures, and sponsorship of events organized by students. It is active on Facebook and Instagram. The Union does not provide psychological help or tutoring services.
The Association des Etudiants de l’HELMo is a member of the Fédération des étudiant-e-s francophones. It provides rules and regulations related to the functioning of the Union on the website. The Union effectively utilizes is structural power to achieve betterment of a student life. Unfortunately, there is no record of recent advocacy campaigns carried out by the Union, nor there is evidence of involvements in governance on the community level.
The Tweaks
The Union could enhance its impact by expanding its services to include psychological support and tutoring. Additionally, launching visible advocacy campaigns and engaging in local governance in Liège could strengthen its representation of student interests. Improved transparency on recent achievements and initiatives would also improve the union’s accountability among students.
