Behind the numbers

The first impression of the Revolte Studentenraad is that it is an impressive student union. After compiling and analyzing the data, the conclusion remains the same – it is an impressive student union. It represents the students well and is well organized. And the students of HOGENT deserve nothing less.

In terms of services, the Revolte Student Council punches above its weight. Yes, they organize events, give advice, are active on social media and provide students with the latest information. That’s expected. But the student representatives also organized an IT desk to help students with their IT problems. Now that is cool.

When it comes to representing the students, it is noticeable that the Union strives for the best. The Revolte Studentenraad is a member of the Vlaamse Vereniging Studenten (Flemish Student Union). Its plans and policies are available on its website. The union has several working groups consisting of student representatives and students who work together on various issues. The Union uses its structural power to shape the curriculum and represents the students externally in meetings with the police officers of the city of Ghent.

The Tweaks

The English version of the website is not fully translated. Although there is evidence of advocacy campaigns carried out in the past, the Union does not specify the final results of these campaigns, which would otherwise be useful to establish a clear track record of the Union’s achievements.
